Rhys has had many televised appearances and is also seen as a very refined stand-up comedian, much more mature than his current years. Having ran away with the 2012 Sydney Comedy Festival Best Newcomer Award, it has been nothing but up for Rhys! His fans, such as Wil Anderson and others claim, “His tongue is as sharp as his dress sense.” The Herald Sun says that you should see him while you still have a seat left available! While you might want to drop your morals at the door, you’ll still have a rocking good time with his array of jokes and lively antics!
Rhys has been in some of the more premier comedy finalist performances as well, having premiers with stations such as ABC TV and reaching Grand Finalist status with Triple J’s Raw Comedy. While he has faced some drawbacks, he has managed to project himself heavily into the more raw comedian scene, while he, himself has stated his climb has been “a series of terrifying events!” Now a regular at the Sydney Comedy Club, he has a great deal to look forward to!
Rhys also believes in supporting his fellow comedians and giving a hand up is his motto! He has supported many now “International” superstars, those like: Jim Jefferies, Glen Wool, Alonzo Bodden and Mitch Fatel! Let’s not forget to mention that Rhys can also be seen quite regularly at the Fringe Festival and MICF as well.
